Netflix has released the final trailer for Outer Banks Season 5, providing fans with one last glimpse of the Pogues before the drama series concludes. The upcoming “P4L” season presents the group with their toughest challenge yet, emphasizing that this final chapter is less about buried treasure and more about settling scores.

The Outer Banks trailer features motorcycle chases, storms at sea, and boat explosions as the group closes in on Groff and the stolen Blue Crown. An earlier trailer also depicted Kiara, still mourning JJ, delving into the legend surrounding the crown, which is said to have the power to bring back the dead.

The synopsis states, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ (Rudy Pankow) in Morocco. Stranded far from home and grieving the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.”

Where Outer Banks Season 4 leaves the Pogues

Season 4 concluded with one of the most heartbreaking moments in the show’s history. During their mission in Morocco, Chandler Groff betrayed the Pogues and fatally stabbed JJ in exchange for Kiara’s life before escaping with the Blue Crown. JJ died in Kiara’s arms as everyone in the group watched helplessly. By the end, the Pogues had lost one of their closest friends and the treasure they fought so hard to find.

The Pogues are now in a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally achieve the freedom they have always sought. It’s them versus the world as they set out to avenge their best friend and bring it home one last time.

The final season features returning cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Fiona Palomo, J. Anthony Crane, and Cullen Moss.

All ten episodes of Outer Banks Season 5 will exclusively premiere on Netflix on August 20, 2026.
