The Duke of Sussex detailed how he and Meghan Markle—who share kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, together—continue to honor his late mom Princess Diana decades after her tragic death.

As Harry shared of the sweet way his family celebrates Diana’s birthday July 1 and anniversary of her death August 31 while attending Scotty’s Summer Festival in Warwickshire July 11, per People, “We do lemon drizzle cake.”

“I think traditions are really, really important,” he added, “especially when they’re sweet.”

Princess Diana—mom to Harry, 41, and Prince William, 44, with ex-husband King Charles—died in 1997 following a fatal car crash in Paris. She was 36.

Since entering fatherhood, Harry has been open about how he and his little ones feel the presence of “grandma Diana,” he shared in a 2022 interview with Today. “More so now than ever, she’s very much helping me.”
