Rick Ross is facing legal trouble.
The “Hustlin” rapper was arrested on October 1 in Miami on domestic violence charges, according to jail records viewed by E! News.
Ross (real name William Leonard Roberts II) was booked at the Miami-Dade County jail just after 6 a.m. local time on October 1. The 50-year-old was charged with battery by strangulation and held with a $5,000 bond.
Shortly after his arrest, Ross’ attorneys Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenstein said he was being “wrongly accused by an ex-girlfriend whose motivations remain unclear.”
“The ex did not even file a police report until a month after the claimed incident allegedly took place,” the attorneys added in their statement to E! News. “Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges. He respectfully requests that his friends, fans, and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course.”
A hearing has been set for October 22.
