“I remember a makeup and hair test that didn’t work out because I wasn’t wearing much makeup,” Channing told Vulture in 2020. “We came up with the idea together: ballet makeup.” This involved black lipstick and long, curly wigs, because “the more eccentric it was,” Channing explained, “the more it worked.”
