The surprise addition will allow fans to bring Peter Parker’s newest look into the game. This comes ahead of the film’s theatrical debut next month.

Insomniac Games announced a free addition for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The update will introduce Peter Parker’s new “Fresh Start” suit from the upcoming film.
The costume will be added through a free update on July 28 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The release provides a direct connection between the game and the next chapter of Spider-Man’s story on the big screen.
Insomniac Games wrote in a post, “Get a fresh start in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! Swing across skylines in Peter Parker’s ‘Fresh Start’ suit inspired by the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in theatres July 31! The suit will be available in-game via update July 28 on PS5 and PC at no additional cost!”
The announcement follows the release of a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The clip included new scenes featuring Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle. However, the studio has continued to keep details surrounding Sadie Sink’s character hidden.
The film itself is set four years after No Way Home. It follows Peter as he continues protecting New York while living in complete isolation. As he dedicates himself fully to his responsibilities as Spider-Man, a series of unusual crimes and an increasingly dangerous new threat place additional strain on him. At the same time, he begins experiencing a mysterious physical transformation that could change his future in unexpected ways.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to open in theaters on July 31, 2026.
