James Gunn’s Superman series will return soon, allowing DC fans to prepare for Man of Tomorrow‘s 2027 release. Gunn is the creative head of the new DC Universe, with the franchise’s first three projects having his DNA all over it. He was behind the animated Creature Commandos, the Superman movie, and Peacemaker season 2. All of Gunn’s projects in the DCU Chapter One have been received well thus far, with Superman, which stands as the first movie in the superhero franchise, being the biggest. Now, Superman fans will be able to get more of that corner of the franchise.
David Corenswet will return as Clark Kent in the Superman movie sequel Man of Tomorrow, where he will be joined by several other heroes that were already introduced in the DCU. Among them will be Milly Alcock’s Supergirl. Not only did Kara make her DCU debut in Superman, but the Supergirl movie’s ending saw her return to Metropolis to stay with her cousin, setting up how they should be working together against Brainiac in the 2027 DC movie. Krypto should be by their side, and before that, HBO Max has announced that Krypto Saves the Day season 2A arrives on September 10.
