Vinyl releases from artists like Taylor Swift, Pink Floyd, and Bruno Mars were among the top sellers during Record Store Day (RSD) 2026 in the United States, according to Luminate.
The annual independent record store day celebration took place on April 18 and featured numerous albums and singles (primarily vinyl titles) released for RSD, exclusively available through independent record stores.
Over 350 album and single products were released for RSD 2026, with the top-selling album being the four-LP clear vinyl edition of Pink Floyd’s Live From the Los Angeles Sports Arena, April 26th, 1975. This project was also available as a 2-CD set, which ranked as the No. 24 best-selling album title for RSD 2026.
Another notable entry is the soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters, which ranks at both Nos. 2 and 6, featuring two different vinyl editions: a HUNTR/X edition and a Saja Boys edition.
Record Store Day 2026 Ambassador Bruno Mars had the No. 2-selling album with Collaborations. This double vinyl compilation includes collaborations such as the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits “Nothin’ On You” (B.o.B featuring Mars), “Uptown Funk” (Mark Ronson featuring Mars), and “Die With a Smile” (Lady Gaga and Mars).
“Independent record stores are vital because they allow you to immerse yourself in music, which is why I’m thrilled to be this year’s Record Store Day Ambassador,” Mars stated upon his appointment. “I love collecting vinyl because there’s nothing better than sitting on your couch, putting on a record, and just enjoying music like that. It feels like a lost art. To actually sit down, put on a record, and fully engage is a very romantic idea. Please support your local independent record store this Record Store Day.”
Mars follows previous RSD Ambassadors such as Post Malone (2025), Paramore (2024), Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires (2023), Swift (2022), Fred Armisen (2021), Brandi Carlile (2020), and Pearl Jam (2019).
Swift had the top-selling RSD 2026 single with “Elizabeth Taylor.” The 7-inch was released on “Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter Vinyl” and included two tracks: “Elizabeth Taylor” and “Elizabeth Taylor” (So Glamorous Cabaret Version).
