Tiger Woods Social Media Comeback, Memorial Day Tribute to Dad

Tiger Woods Says He’s Seeking Treatment Toward “Lasting Recovery” After DUI Arrest

Tiger Woods is reflecting.

Two months after the golf champion stepped away from social media in the wake of his DUI arrest in March, he returned with a post honoring his late father Earl Woods for Memorial Day.

“My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service,” Tiger wrote in a May 25 Instagram Story. “To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them, we wouldn’t have the greatest country on Earth.”

The five-time Masters winner’s father died in 2006 at age 74 following a battle with prostate cancer. At the time, Woods said his dad was his “best friend and greatest role model.”

He added in a statement, “He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend.”

Prior to his latest post, Woods—who has been dating Vanessa Trump since 2025—has remained out of the spotlight in recent months.
