Tony Romo is facing legal trouble.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was arrested and charged with operating while impaired (OWI) after he was pulled over in Milwaukee, Wis., on July 23, according to the Milwaukee County arrest report obtained by E! News.
After he was stopped by police around 6:18 p.m. local time, Romo “performed poorly” on standard field sobriety tests, per the report. He was then taken into custody, booked, and released.
The records also indicate that Romo’s OWI charge is his first offense, which Wisconsin law does not recognize as a criminal charge and typically carries a fine ranging from $150 to $300, according to local outlet WISN 12.
He is scheduled to appear in court for the charge on September 21.
E! News has reached out to a representative for Romo for comment but has not yet heard back.
Hours before his arrest, the 46-year-old was participating in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament and spoke about his love for golf and football.
