Toy Story 5 Achieves Major Milestone Before $1 Billion Box Office

Toy Story 5 has cleared another major box office benchmark. The Pixar sequel is now closing in on the coveted $1 billion mark. The latest installment continues to attract audiences around the world several weeks into its theatrical run. Its newest milestone also reshuffles Pixar’s all-time box office rankings, giving Disney another animated hit in a strong 2026 theatrical lineup.

Toy Story 5 has surpassed $800 million at the global box office

According to Deadline, Toy Story 5 has reached $808.6 million worldwide, made up of $381.3 million in North America and $427.3 million from international markets. That total places the film among Pixar’s biggest global releases and makes it the studio’s ninth highest-grossing movie worldwide. It has also climbed past the lifetime earnings of Monsters University, Up, and The Incredibles.

The film is still adding to its total. Germany has yet to release Toy Story 5, with its debut scheduled for July 23. Internationally, Mexico leads all overseas markets with $61.8 million, followed by the United Kingdom ($52.5 million) and China ($38.3 million). In North America, the movie also edged past Finding Nemo to become Pixar’s sixth highest-grossing release in the domestic market.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, the sequel reunites Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of Andy’s beloved toys for another adventure. The franchise features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and several returning cast members. Since the original film arrived in 1995, Toy Story has become one of Pixar’s defining series, fusing comedy, heart, and adventure across multiple generations.

The franchise has also been a critical favorite. The original Toy Story holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while Toy Story 2 also stands at 100%. Toy Story 3 earned 98%, and Toy Story 4 received 97%, making every mainline entry a Certified Fresh release. With more markets still to open and strong momentum at the box office, Toy Story 5 is well positioned to continue its climb toward the $1 billion milestone.
