Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is curious about the fate of Wonder Man.
The actor expressed his thoughts after reports surfaced that his Disney+ series was canceled following just one season.
“Word just dropped that Wonder Man won’t be returning for Season 2. (And if you didn’t know, now you know!)” Abdul-Mateen II shared on Instagram on July 30. “That’s life, right? Everything will work out.”
This news is particularly surprising as he just received a 2026 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Nevertheless, Abdul-Mateen II remains thankful for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who WATCHED the show, ENJOYED the show, and SHARED their enjoyment in some way,” the 40-year-old added. “The show was successful. And that’s my favorite aspect of it.”
While Disney has not yet confirmed reports of the cancellation despite having renewed the show, Abdul-Mateen II hopes the series will stay in fans’ memories for years to come.
