An acclaimed Netflix superhero series has received a positive update regarding Season 2 after several delays. The creator of the show shared an encouraging status update for fans on Instagram.
Supacell wraps Season 2 production
Rapman, the showrunner, officially announced that he has completed filming for Supacell Season 2 and is currently in the editing phase. He shared this update on his Instagram page, posting a photo of himself in the editing room with the first look of Season 2 displayed on the TV in front of him, which stated: “Supacell 2. Only on Netflix.”
The post also included a message from the creator in the caption, stating, “Due to circumstances out of our control we had to pause production for a while. But filming is finally done! I’m currently in the edit getting it ready. It’s coming and I PROMISE it will be worth the wait.”
The post received a wave of appreciation and excitement from fans in the comments. This reaction is expected, considering that Season 1 premiered two years ago in June 2024, with Netflix announcing its renewal in August of that same year.
According to Rapman’s earlier post, filming for Season 2 commenced around October 2025. Various reports later indicated that the delays were likely due to the showrunner’s busy schedule. However, production is now progressing rapidly towards completion.
For this upcoming season, Rapman will share directing responsibilities with Koby Adom. In addition to the core cast, new faces will join, including Frank Bourke, Tiana Simone, Richard Keep, and Ed Allenby.
Supacell Season 1 premiered on Netflix on June 27, 2024, receiving widespread critical acclaim. It holds a perfect 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while users rated it significantly lower at 69%. The series attracted over 34.5 million viewers in the latter half of 2024 (via RadioTimes).
