Baldur’s Gate 3 has had one of the best runs of a modern game in recent memory. It came out of the gate swinging, and other than some bugs that needed to be squashed, it was a massive hit both critically and commercially. Baldur’s Gate 3 replays just got a lot more interesting, thanks to a new mod from Nexus Mods. Billed as a “true third-person camera,” this new mod seeks to add flavor to the game in the form of an over-the-shoulder viewpoint.
Here’s an overview from its creator: “This mod is an enhanced version of Native Camera Tweaks by Ersh. It retains all features of the original mod while adding a dedicated toggle to switch to a modern, over-the-shoulder third-person camera view where the camera stays closely attached to your character. In this over-the-shoulder mode, the camera stays at a fixed distance to keep the close perspective. During gameplay actions, such as spell targeting, jumping, or inspecting the camera temporarily switches back to the normal view and automatically returns to over-the-shoulder mode once finished.”
In other words, while you might recall a previous third-person mod existing in the time since Baldur’s Gate 3 was released, this is a more refined edition.
