Renowned guitarist Carlos Santana has been admitted to the hospital due to what the San Antonio Fire Department classified as “a non life-threatening condition” just before his band’s anticipated performance tonight (April 22) in San Antonio. This incident has raised concerns among fans and followers of the legendary musician, who has captivated audiences worldwide with his exceptional guitar skills.
The manager of Santana, Michael Vrionis, provided an official statement on the venue’s website regarding his health status:
“It is with immense disappointment that I must inform everyone that tonight’s performance in San Antonio has been postponed. Mr. Santana was at the venue preparing for the show when he experienced an episode of dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution for Mr. Santana’s health, we felt that postponing the show was the most responsible decision. He is recovering well and is eager to return to San Antonio in the near future, as well as continue his US Tour. Thank you for your understanding. We will announce a new date for the show shortly.”

In a report shared by TMZ, the aforementioned quote from the San Antonio Fire Department was included, along with video footage capturing the moment Santana was transported from the venue in an ambulance, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
On July 5, 2022, a performance by Santana in Detroit was abruptly ended when the now 77-year-old guitarist suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration during the show. Following this incident, he had to postpone several performances before fortunately returning to the stage.
Earlier this year, Santana was also compelled to delay the commencement of a new residency in Las Vegas after he experienced a fall at his residence. These health concerns have raised awareness about the importance of health and wellness in the demanding world of live performances.
Looking ahead, Santana’s next concert is currently planned for tomorrow night (April 23) in Sugarland, Texas, and fans are hopeful that he will be back on stage shortly.
