Eagles ‘One of These Nights’ Box Set Giveaway

The Eagles were nearing the end of an era as their popularity continued to rise. The release of One of These Nights in 1975 transformed the California group in several significant ways.

This fourth studio album debuted in June of that year and quickly ascended to the top of the charts within a month. One of These Nights marked the beginning of a remarkable streak, being the first of four consecutive No. 1 albums for the Eagles.

Additionally, they achieved three Top 10 singles that are now considered classics, including “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take it to the Limit,” and the title track, which also reached No. 1, marking the Eagles’ second chart-topping single. Ultimately, One of These Nights sold over four million copies and earned three Grammy nominations, with “Lyin’ Eyes” winning the award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals.

This album also signified the last performance for guitarist Bernie Leadon, who departed from the Eagles before their next studio session, replaced by Joe Walsh, a friend and collaborator. A newly expanded edition of One of These Nights from Rhino captures all these stories and more, including insights into the band’s tour supporting the album.

A previously unreleased concert recording from the Sunshine Festival in Anaheim, California, is featured in this set. The Eagles performed that evening to conclude a long day of music for fans who also enjoyed performances from Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt during the festivities.

This concert marked the end of the tour and served as Leadon’s farewell before he left a year prior to their iconic album, Hotel California, released in 1976. Interestingly, his replacement was present at Anaheim Stadium that night; Joe Walsh joined the Eagles to perform his hit “Rocky Mountain Way” during the encore.

Ultimate Classic Rock Nights is offering a chance to win copies of this new expanded edition, available as a 3 CD/1 Blu-ray set or separately on 3 LPs. Both formats include the complete Anaheim concert along with a new mix of the original album. The Blu-ray included with the CD version features a high-resolution stereo mix and a Dolby Atmos mix.
