“We were in Vegas together with a group of friends, and on the way home, the plane basically took off and then I don’t know the technical term for it but there was an issue with the power. Which is never a good thing, obviously.”

He humorously noted Powell’s aviation skills at that time. “And this is pre-Top Gun: Maverick Glen Powell, so he was in flight training, but he couldn’t have landed the plane like he can now. He was just regular old Glen Powell. So you know, had this happened a couple weeks ago, different story.”

Fortunately, the flight landed safely. He added, “Yeah, it was a frightening experience, but we were okay.” He mentioned that he didn’t fully grasp the severity of the situation until after they landed.

Jonas revealed that one of the pilots was visibly emotional. “One of them was crying when we landed,” he said. This moment shifted his perspective on the incident. “I was thinking, ‘Okay, maybe it wasn’t as bad as I sort of felt like it was.’ And then I saw him crying. I was like, ‘Oh no, this was bad.’”

He also observed concern among the flight attendants during the ordeal. “It was one of those experiences you never forget,” he said. Reflecting on it now, Jonas believes that the incident strengthened his bond with Powell. “And you know, Glen’s the best. I think from that moment on, we’ve just built a great friendship,” he stated.

Nearly ten years later, he still recalls the frightening flight. Both stars continue to stay active in their careers. Jonas recently appeared in Power Ballad alongside Paul Rudd and is preparing for Jumanji: Open World, set to release on December 25.

Powell has upcoming projects as well. He will star in The Great Beyond alongside Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, and Samuel L. Jackson, which will be released later this year.
