Frankie Muniz is entering a new chapter in his life.

The Malcolm in the Middle actor announced that he and his wife Paige Price—who are parents to 5-year-old son Mauz Mosley Muniz—have decided to divorce after six years of marriage, following a trial separation that they kept private.

“After 10 wonderful years together, we’ve evolved in ways that led us to realize our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents,” Muniz and Price stated in a joint Instagram post on July 1. “We share an amazing son who remains the center of our world, and we’re both happier, stronger parents because of the love and growth we’ve experienced.”

Despite their decision to end their marriage, Muniz, 40, expresses “endless gratitude to Paige for everything she’s done for me and our family.”

“She put her own aspirations on hold so I could pursue mine, and she was always my greatest supporter,” he added. “That foundation of respect and friendship will always remain.”
