General Hospital‘s latest Willow storyline has left many fans furious. Fans expected Willow to finally face consequences after everything happened with Drew. Instead, the July 28 episode ended with Willow walking away once again.
Fans of General Hospital are outraged by Willow’s victory once more
Many viewers anticipated that Drew, portrayed by Cameron Mathison, would finally reveal Willow’s wrongdoings. Instead, Willow managed to evade any significant punishment. Drew confronted Willow, played by Katelyn MacMullen, during Monday’s episode.
He wanted her to be held accountable for her actions. Willow had shot Drew and kept him drugged for months. The situation shifted when Nina, played by Cynthia Watros, arrived with Jack, played by Chris McKenna. He uncovered evidence that exposed Drew’s own criminal actions instead. Willow quickly leveraged that evidence against Drew.
She coerced Drew into silence regarding everything that transpired. The agreement also dissolved their marriage without any repercussions. Willow even retained Drew’s congressional seat following the deal. Many fans felt frustrated by the conclusion as they believed Willow had triumphed yet again.
Karen Keough Matarese expressed her disappointment on the Soap Opera Digest Facebook page, stating, “Very disappointed I wanted to see Willow get hers not walk out smirking.” Some fans were also upset over Willow’s final scene.
She took off her wedding rings before discarding them onto the floor. One of those rings originally belonged to Lila Quartermaine. On X (formerly Twitter), a fan questioned, “Was that Lila’s ring Willow so blatantly dropped on the floor? Shame on her.”
Several viewers felt that the payoff was not worth the buildup. Willow had previously escaped punishment for shooting Drew, as another fan commented, “So Willow shoots Drew, drugs him for months and gets away free and clear without losing anything? Not a Drew fan but come on. The bad guys need to pay not win. Once again GH flops the ending. Do better GH!!!”
Fans are now left wondering if Willow will eventually face consequences. For now, many believe she has once again escaped while Drew has lost everything.
