GTA 6 Disney World Parody Receives Official Update from Rockstar

We are just a couple of days away from the one-month countdown to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI and what a ride it has been. With it being well over a decade since the latest Grand Theft Auto entry, we have also had to suffer two delays whilst waiting for what many consider to be the most anticipated video game release of all time. Originally expected to launch in Fall 2025, Grand Theft Auto VI will now finally arrive on 19 November 2026, meaning we are finally on the homestretch.

Now with Rockstar Games ramping up its marketing, with a Netflix special, magazine exclusives, and many stunning screenshots, the excitement is at fever pitch, and it seems as though Disney is also joining in on the fun.

Over the past few weeks, rumors have suggested that Leonida will include a theme park inspired by none other than Walt Disney World. With GTA VI‘s map already expected to be the most ambitious open-world map of all time, having a full theme park does make sense, and now Rockstar itself has commented on this Disney-related rumor.

Despite Grand Theft Auto VI being expected to feature many iconic Floridian-inspired locations, such as the Leonida Keys and the Grassrivers, with activities such as hunting, fishing and scuba diving also being on the menu, it seems as though Walt Disney World will not star in the upcoming release.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, the studio revealed that Walt Disney World did not make the cut for the final version of the game and the home of Disney World and Universal Studios will be absent. According to Paul MacPherson, Rockstar’s Senior Vice President of Environmental Art, the studio “constantly evaluates” the unique qualities that the artists could bring to the game, and whilst Rockstar aims to deliver the “full Florida experience,” it could not possibly include every location.

However, with previous Grand Theft Auto entries featuring theme parks, such as Grand Theft Auto V’s Del Perro pier and the Coney Island-inspired Funland in Grand Theft Auto 4, there is no doubt that Grand Theft Auto VI will include some kind of smaller theme park, especially as its map is expected to be twice the size of the one found in GTA V.

As big as GTA 6 is, it was just recently confirmed by Rockstar that the game was originally supposed to be even bigger. The original version of the game would have spanned both North and South America, something leakers insisted for years was the case. Eventually, Rockstar realized if they wanted to release the game sometime this century, they would have to scale it back.

In the meantime, the countdown to Grand Theft Auto VI is in full swing and with just weeks to go until it launches on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, it will not be long until we get to dive in and see what Rockstar has been working on over the past ten years.
