Horror Shows to Watch if You Enjoy Prime Video’s Carrie

In development since 2024, Mike Flanagan’s Carrie, a series adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel, is making its way to Prime Video right in time for Halloween 2026. The eight-episode series is the fourth adaptation of the novel, which also launched King’s horror writing career. The story of an awkward teenager and how she navigates her secluded life, personal grief, bullying, and emerging psychic powers, Flanagan’s Carrie expands on the popular novel (and its famous film adaptation) with a layered and nuanced take on these subjects.

Ahead of its release, the miniseries has been one of the most anticipated shows of 2026, a reimagining of an iconic horror classic that adds a contemporary perspective to the beloved original. Timely, and terrifyingly so, the supernatural thriller is a must-watch for genre fans. And if you like this reinvention of the classic, then you might also like the following horror shows, including adaptations of King’s other acclaimed stories and other hit shows by Flanagan. Without further ado, here’s our selection of horror shows we think you should watch if you love Carrie.

Created by Mike Flanagan and loosely adapted from Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel, The Haunting of Hill House is the first entry in the Haunting anthology series, followed by The Haunting of Bly Manor. The show stars Michiel Huisman, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti, Carla Gugino, and Henry Thomas in key roles.

A chilling supernatural horror series, The Haunting of Hill House grips the viewer with mounting tension and leaves them with a satisfying ending. When it first premiered, the 10-episode series was highly acclaimed for its story, direction, narrative style, and great production value, winning the Bram Stoker Award and Fangoria Chainsaw Award. Created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong, The Midnight Club is a series adaptation of the 1994 novel and other short stories by Christopher Pike. Developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, It: Welcome to Derry is a prequel series to their supernatural horror films, It and It Chapter Two, all based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel It. Revealing the origin story of Pennywise, the evil clown, the first season follows a couple and their son who move to the titular Maine town and become involved in a series of awful incidents. Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as the shapeshifting clown from the films, with Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, Matilda Lawler, Chris Chalk, and more in key roles.

It: Welcome to Derry is a well-made prequel series to one of the most popular horror film series of the 2010s. It successfully captures the dread and terror of the films in its tone and atmosphere and compellingly expands the myth of Stephen King’s iconic villain. Since its first season release, It: Welcome to Derry has earned praise for its sharp social commentary and the performances by Chalk and Skarsgård, whose invested depiction of Pennywise has become almost synonymous with the actor.
