During its theatrical run, the Marlon Wayans-led film received mixed reception from critics and audiences alike. It currently holds a low approval rating of 31% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 229 reviews. Meanwhile, its Popcornmeter score is slightly higher at 56%.

As of today, Peele’s supernatural horror thriller Him is now finally available to stream on Netflix. The cast also included Tyriq Withers as Cam, Julia Fox as Elsie, Tim Heidecker as Tom, Jim Jefferies as Marco, Guapdad 4000 as Murph, Tierra Whack as Adrienne, and more. The movie had a disappointing performance at the box office, grossing only $28 million against its reported budget of $27 million.
“The film follows Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life and identity to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma,” reads the official synopsis. “Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White, a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White. Justin Tipping directed Him from a screenplay written by Limetown creators Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. The horror thriller was produced by Ian Cooper, Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson for Monkeypaw Productions. Executive producers were David Kern and Kate Oh. The creative team also included cinematographer Kira Kelly, editor Taylor Mason, and composer The Haxan Cloak.
