Legend Of Zelda Link Redesign Excites Gamers Everywhere

The Legend of Zelda is currently experiencing a significant moment as a franchise, with its 40th anniversary celebrated this year and several rumored projects underway.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next mainline game in the series, with speculation surrounding a potential remake of Ocarina of Time. Additionally, a big-budget movie adaptation is in development, and while details have been scarce, we’ve recently seen our first glimpse of Link’s iconic look, generating considerable excitement among fans.

On Twitter/X, user Stealth shared a post from the film’s Director of Photography, Gyula Pados. This post included an image of the movie’s slate, showcasing a determined-looking Link dressed in his full tunic and holding a sword.

This marks the first time we have seen this outfit, and it’s clear that fans are excited. “It makes sense that they chose Link’s design from Twilight Princess, as it’s the most ‘realistic’ of all Links in the saga, especially since the movie will be live-action,” one user commented.

Twilight Princess design with a cloak?? Holy hell, that’s dope. Might be SS too, but the colors are closer to TP,” another user added.

On Reddit, many shared their thoughts on the image, with most responses being very positive. “Cool patch. What an awesome thing to hold onto. I hope this turns out to be great. Not holding my breath but keeping an open mind,” one user remarked.

While it’s important to note that what we see here is concept art, it’s reasonable to assume that if they went to the trouble of printing it on the clapper, it likely resembles what the final project will look like.

If we had to choose a game where Link’s design closely resembles the brief glimpse we’ve received here, it would likely be the more mature approach seen in Twilight Princess. This entry is often regarded as one of the best in the series, making it logical that they opted for a design inspired by it for the movie.

The Legend of Zelda is scheduled to premiere on May 7, 2027, so we don’t have long to wait to see what the production team has been creating.
