The Lord of the Rings features some truly sinister characters, but few evoke as much fear in audiences as the Nazgul. Once men, these wraiths were corrupted by the power of the nine rings given to them by Sauron, ultimately succumbing to serve the dark lord himself.
In The Fellowship of the Ring (in the films), they appear as black riders on horses with glowing red eyes, terrorizing Middle-earth. Now, they return more frightening than ever with a new physical release that is sure to capture the attention of dedicated fans.
On Pure Arts’ website, a new item has been listed: The Lord of the Rings Nazgul King Art Mask Exclusive Edition. Limited to just 250 copies, this mask boasts an incredibly detailed and hyper-realistic design made from silicone, rivaling the quality of those produced by major movie prop departments.
The designers chose to depict the spectral form seen only when Frodo confronts The Nine while wearing the One Ring, resulting in a much more striking and terrifying appearance than what might have been expected. The company shared this insight:
“Crafted with exceptional realism, the mask features silicone skin, glass eyes, and individually hand-punched hair, delivering an unparalleled lifelike finish despite his wraithlike form. Every fold, texture and decaying detail has been meticulously sculpted to reflect his corrupted existence between worlds. The display support is designed as the Morgul blade planted into the castle ruins, recreating the dramatic moment of attack. A haunting centerpiece for collectors and fans of The Lord of the Rings.”
This Exclusive Edition is intended for display rather than wear and comes with a mini replica of the Morgul Blade to rest the mask on, allowing you to showcase it wherever you choose in your home.
As expected, such meticulous attention to detail and production time comes at a high cost, with the mask currently retailing for $1299. However, if you are a devoted Lord of the Rings fan and enjoy collecting high-quality items, finding anything comparable to this mask may prove challenging.
In other news, a brand-new Lord of the Rings LEGO set that aims to recreate the iconic fortress of Helm’s Deep is rumored to be in development. This set is expected to contain 8,060 pieces and is slated for release in June 2027, potentially making it the second-largest Lord of the Rings set ever produced. With this and the aforementioned statue, being a fan of this franchise might be getting a bit too expensive. Nonetheless, I plan to purchase that LEGO set once it’s available.
