Space and Super Soldier Movies from Jason Statham on Peacock

From space thrillers to super soldier action, Jason Statham takes over Peacock releases this week.

Kicking off Peacock’s Statham lineup on August 1 is F9: The Fast Saga. Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, comes out of retirement to face off against his estranged brother Jakob, a super-spy portrayed by John Cena. Jakob teams up with a rogue financier to launch “Project Aries,” a weapon capable of hacking global defense systems. Dom and his crew chase him across the globe to shut it down, and by the end, they find a way to reconcile.

Jason Statham makes a brief, uncredited appearance in the 2021 film during the mid-credits scene. As Deckard Shaw, he’s seen in his hideout before Han shows up unexpectedly, likely to settle their long-running feud.

Another Statham release, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, is coming to Peacock this week on the same date. In the 2019 film, lawman Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) teams up with rogue operative Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). The two form an unlikely partnership to take down Brixton Lore. He’s a cyber-enhanced terrorist who threatens the world with a lethal virus. To stop him, they must protect Shaw’s sister Hattie, who infected herself with the pathogen to keep it out of the wrong hands.

Also arriving on Peacock the same day are Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed. Plus Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, along with Insidious, Insidious: Chapter 2, and Insidious: Chapter 3. With romance, comedy, and horror on the lineup, there’s something for every kind of watcher.
