Ellen Pompeo might want to monitor her blood pressure following an unexpected incident at the airport that left her both astonished and amused.

The star of Grey’s Anatomy disclosed that she was recently stopped by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) while attempting to board a flight, all due to a seemingly innocent yet salty snack she had packed for her journey.

During an interview with Travel + Leisure, published on May 29, she recounted, “I had a bag of organic sunflower seeds from Erewhon, which are probably the most expensive sunflower seeds money can buy.” She went on to explain, “They literally held me for an hour, and they even brought in the bomb squad.”

Pompeo found it hard to fathom that her sunflower seeds, which she bought from the upscale grocer in Los Angeles known for the Hailey Bieber smoothie, could trigger such a dramatic response.

“I was like, what is happening? Is this a joke?” she recalled, expressing her disbelief. “They said it was most likely a chemical on the packaging of these super expensive, fancy, organic, clean sunflower seeds. My protein on the plane!”
