    WWII Thriller Starring Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson Hits #1 on Prime Video

    2026 has been a massively successful year for Alan Ritchson, who starred in one of the biggest Netflix movies of the year in War Machine. The sci-fi thriller was not released in theaters and was dropped straight-to-streaming on Netflix, but that didn’t stop it from becoming the biggest movie of 2026 and one of the top 10 biggest movies of all time on the platform. Ritchson is also set to return as Jack Reacher in the highly anticipated fourth season of Reacher, which is coming to Prime Video in August. He’ll also reprise his role as the towering action hero in the first Reacher spin-off, Neagley, which follows Season 4 in September. Ritchson has even been tapped to star in a new action thriller with Owen Wilson, Runner, which is opening in theaters on September 11. The first trailer for the film was released last week.

    While it’s Ritchson’s role as Reacher that has catapulted him to new levels of fame in the last few years, he’s also starred in some other big projects that allowed him to tap into new audiences and pick up new fans. Back in 2024, Ritchson teamed up with Henry Cavill for the WWII-era action thriller, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which was written and directed by Guy Ritchie. While hype for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare was through the roof in the months leading up to release, this tragically didn’t translate to success at the box office, leading the film to gross only $29 million against a $60 million budget. The action epic found a home streaming on Starz for the first year after its release, but it has since migrated to Peacock, and after a successful run into the top 10, it’s now charting in the VOD top 10 as well on Prime Video.
