Kenny Chesney had these Today cohosts from the start.
Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, and Al Roker humorously joked that the country singer’s performance on September 17 was so impressive they might not show up for work the following day.
After all, Kenny’s remarkable performance of three songs for the Citi Concert Series at Rockefeller Plaza made the trio completely forget what day it was.
“We’ve been talking,” Al admitted on Today on September 17 after the singer finished serenading the crowd with his 2026 song “Get Along.” “It’s almost thrown us off because the vibe is Friday. It’s such a Friday vibe.”
In fact, Craig, 47, and Dylan, 45, mentioned that the mix-up could even impact whether viewers would see them on their screens the next day.
“If you don’t see us tomorrow, you know what happened,” Craig joked, while Dylan added, “Yes, we got confused.”
Indeed, Kenny—who is preparing to release his 21st album, Silver Sands Marina, on September 25—put on quite the concert for Today, also performing “Carry On” and the record’s title track for fans.
