Parker recently sat down in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he detailed the future of the Game of Thrones spin-off. The 41-year-old said he initially envisioned making three seasons featuring Egg as a child before taking a break for a couple of years. After that, Parker hopes to wait for Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays Egg, to grow older before returning for two additional seasons featuring an older version of the character.
However, when Parker was asked what would happen if HBO pushed for a recast instead of agreeing to wait, the Canadian screenwriter gave a firm response. The Canadian said, “No. Dexter is our Egg. Or, at least, Dexter is my Egg – I have no controlling interest in this property. But Dexter and Peter are my guys.” Although he acknowledged that the final casting decision may not be his, the 41-year-old made his preference clear.

Describing the situation, Parker said, “Yeah, the place we chose to shoot our drought in got a once-in-a-100-year storm. It kept getting water, and we got rained out of locations. We got flooded. There were national emergencies. We had to put the crew on hiatus.”
