Spider-Man Series Confirms Time Jump and Green Goblin in Season 2

The world of Spider-Man continues to grow in one of the latest Marvel versions of the iconic superhero.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline brought Tom Holland’s Peter Parker back to the big screen this summer with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with the Phase 6 installment having reached over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. However, Marvel Studios is getting ready to bring back another incarnation, showing an alternative take on the actor’s web-slinger in the larger multiverse.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 is confirmed to launch in 2027, as Deadline recently spoke with showrunner Jeff Trammell, who gave new teases about the show’s return. To begin with, he shared how “there are so many things in the season – there are a lot of new characters and kind of like new takes on characters that we even met in season 1. Some of them you’ve already mentioned, like Jeanne, following Lonnie’s story, and how things go for him following the events of season 1.”

For him, Trammell “really think just Peter and his journey- if he comes in contact with any crazy symbiote stuff- how that’ll work out for him. We have such a huge cast of characters who are all so fun, so excited to pick up with that and re-meet their favorite characters.” However, there are other big players who will have plenty of things to do in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2.

With Colman Domingo coming back as Norman Osborn, the showrunner teased how his character, better known to comic readers as Green Goblin, will return. Trammell stated, “He’s doing better than Norman’s doing. But both are doing great; we have had a lot of fun working with Colman for season 2. So Norman will be back in a big way.”

Following Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 1’s ending, viewers can definitely expect a bit of a time jump. Trammell explained that “in terms of seasons 1 and 2, we got a little bit of a time jump, so we do kind of skip a summer- He’s done a bit more as Spider-Man, he’s really feeling himself and everyone knows the best Spider-Man is a downed Spider-Man, so we are going to put him through adversity, as he’s leveled up, and everyone else [who is] around] him. He’s gotta bring his A-game and face a lot of big, dangerous people.”
