Apparently one criminal empire isn’t enough for Theo James. While he’s currently back navigating gangsters, drugs, and some extremely questionable business arrangements elsewhere on streaming, another of his recent projects puts him on the other side of an elaborate criminal operation. This one involves diamonds, an evacuated section of London, and a World War II bomb that could turn the whole thing into a considerably shorter movie.
James (The Gentlemen) stars alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train) in Fuze, the 2026 action thriller that has officially found its subscription streaming home on HBO Max in the United States. David Mackenzie’s (Hell or High Water) 96-minute movie combines a ticking-clock bomb thriller with a heist movie, with James playing the man who realizes that thousands of Londoners being evacuated presents a rather lucrative opportunity.
When a World War II bomb is discovered in central London, a team of military experts is sent in to investigate and defuse it. A huge police operation is put into action to evacuate thousands of local residents. Amidst the chaos of the situation, a group of men under the guidance of diamond-expert Karalis are hiding out in a basement within the evacuation zone. With emergency services stretched to the limit and the bomb ready to explode, the group begin an audacious jewel heist under cover of the ultimate distraction.
The cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki) as Chief Superintendent Zuzana Greenfield, Saffron Hocking (Top Boy) as Sergeant Dootsie Keane, Elham Ehsas (Homeland) as Rahim, Sam Worthington (Avatar) as X, and Honor Swinton Byrne (The Souvenir).
